George Turner offers private instruction in jazz guitar, as well as a variety of other styles, at his studio in Charlottesville, VA. All skill levels, from beginning to advanced, are welcome. George emphasizes building repertoire, technique, and sight reading, as well as developing a working knowledge of music theory as it applies to the guitar, in order to develop improvisational and compositional skills on the instrument. Topics covered include scales, modes, arpeggios, soloing, chord vocabulary, comping, and solo "chord melody" playing.
